Off-Piste
Famed around the world for its off-piste skiing, the Monterosa ski area offers an exciting range of skiing. We are pleased to be working with one of the local Italian guiding companies to offer some excellent off-piste experiences for our clients. Aimed at the good intermediate and advanced skier or snowboarder, the options detailed below are pre-bookable through our office (although please realise that they are all subject to snow / weather conditions). You can pay your guide locally.
The long awaited new Punta Indren lift opened in late December 2009, accessing the Indren Glacier. Those using the new lift (covered on the lift pass included as part of your holiday) must carry an avalance transceiver (skiers are scanned as they pass through the turnstile) plus an avalance pack to include shovel, probe, blanket etc.. Our resort staff will be pleased to advise you once you are in resort.
This new high speed Salati / Indren cable car departs from just below Passo dei Salati on the Gressoney side, to arrive at a height of 3,275m at the edge of the glacier. This lift opens up a vast area of off-piste skiing including the huge La Balma run, from the Bors glacier to Alagna. Our resort staff would be pleased to offer advice on all the off-piste options available to you if you would prefer to wait to make arrangements whilst in Champoluc. We can even assess your skiing ability if you feel that you might not be experienced enough to join one of these adventures. Please note that modern skis and safety equipment make off-piste skiing easier to master and safer to perform, especillay under the watchful eye of one of our British ski instructors or an Italian guide.
You must, of course, ensure that your wintersports insurance allows you to partake in any of these activities.

Freeride
Your qualified Italian mountain guide will help you make the most of the extensive off-piste experiences in the Monterosa ski area without the use of a helicopter - highly recommended by our clients.
Price for 1 to 4 people – approx. Euros 270 in total for the day
Price for 5 to 8 people – approx. Euros 290 in total for the day
The price includes the services of an English-speaking Italian guide for a full day.
A One Day Off-piste Tour of the Monterosa Region
You will depart from Gressoney by helicopter to ascent on to the high slopes of Monte Rosa, before skiing down towards Zermatt. Using the Cervinia / Zermatt lift system you will ascend back up to the ridge before skiing the off-piste route to St. Jacques, just outside Champoluc. Highly recommended.

Price includes the services of the guide for a full day, helicopter flight/s as required and a 1 day Zermatt lift pass.
A Two Day Off-piste Tour of the Monterosa Region
As above, but spending one night in a hotel in the resort of Zermatt.

Price includes the services of the guide for two days, helicopter flight/s as required, a Zermatt lift pass as required and a 1 night in a 2 star hotel in Zermatt on a bed and breakfast basis (based on 2 people sharing a room).
Other Alpine Adventures
Other adventures from 3 to 7 nights, including accommodation, can be arranged. We are also able to arrange ski mountaineering experiences, snow-shoeing, ice climbing adventures.
