For Families
Whilst summer beach holidays will have an appeal to some, many families are now looking for an alternative to the popular 'club' type holidays. Tuscany is a perfect destination for those looking to spend some quality time with their children, but at the same time enjoying excellent food and wine in a relaxed atmosphere. The kids will love the open space, the swimming pools, the al fresco meals and the cycle rides, before sleeping off the effects of an active day in the fresh air. Parents can then enjoy a fabulous sunset whilst enjoying a glass of the finest Chianti Classico.
We can tailor any of the activities or excursions that we feature on this site (click here to link to our activties and day trips) to suit families with children of any age. As parents ourselves, we understand the requirements of parents to have a holiday that will be enjoyed by all family members - a fun and interesting holiday for the children, means an enjoyable, relaxing (well, sometimes!) break for Mum and Dad.
A number of our properties are especially suitable for families with young children and we would be pleased to discuss the merits of any of them. We have listed below a few that might be worth a closer look if you are travelling as a family:
Romitorio di Serelle

You don’t need to be concerned about meals in restaurants. All Italians love children and will bend over back wards to welcome them. If your children can handle the later nights, no Italian will think it at all unusual for you to take them, no matter how small, out to a restaurant in the evening.
Many country restaurants also have lovely gardens or spacious piazzas where the children can play lively games within eye sight, whilst the parents finish their meal. It is also quite acceptable to send older children to the near by bar to buy cheaper commercial ice creams after dinner whilst the parents indulge in the more expensive and delicious desserts at the table.
For older children who may be able to better appreciate what you are looking at, we recommend the Dorling Kindersley guide books (available at all major book sellers). They provide simple itineraries and lots of pictures and diagrams that will help the children to better understand the sights and sounds of Tuscany. There are also many things especially for children in Italian cities, you just need to know what they are and how to find them.
