Tuscan Weddings
We are pleased to be able to offer an inclusive service for those wishing to be married in the Comune (Town Hall) of one of the enchanting Tuscan hilltowns such as Siena. With a number of years experience in arranging weddings in Italy, we provide a friendly and efficient service from our British staff based both here in the UK and in Tuscany.
La Selva Estate
One of the few venues other than the Tuscan hilltowns, where couples can marry (in a civil ceremony). Call Roger on 01962 713330 for details.
Siena
There must be few experiences in the world as awe-inspiring as the first time you step in to the main square (the Piazza del Campo) in Siena, the most famous of the Tuscan hill towns. The shell shaped cobbled piazza, the venue for the world famous Palio horse race, slopes gently from the high building surrounding it to the attractive town hall (pictured below).
At the base of most of the buildings is a pavement café or restaurant, the perfect place from which to enjoy a view of the town hall façade and its tall bell tower (the Torre del Mangia). It is in the town hall that couples are allowed to be married in a civil ceremony, which takes place in a room with frescoed ceiling on the second floor overlooking the cobbled piazza.
Our services include comprehensive advice and support in the UK by our friendly and experienced staff, the arranging of all the relevant paperwork, booking the venue, and planning the actual wedding day. We will arrange everything that you need, from bridal bouquets to a photographer and vintage cars to wedding cakes to guarantee that your day is a great success. Our staff based in Tuscany will then attend the pre-wedding meeting with you at the Town Hall (usually on the day before the wedding), arrange an interpreter and assist you and your 2 witnesses through the formalities.
On the wedding day, we will attend the wedding with you to ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly. We will also help arrange the delivery of the flowers, travel to and from the town hall, photographs and any other services that you require to make your wedding day special for you and your partner.
Montalcino, Buonconvento, Montelpulciano and San Gimignano
Maybe not quite as grand as the the town hall in Siena, the comunes in these other Tuscan villages hilltowns are no less romantic. We are able to arrange weddings at all of these venues and in fact in many other villages and towns around Tuscany.
Montalcino - The Piazza del Popolo is the historical centre of Montalcino. The piazza is dominated by the Town Hall built in the 14th century. It is a three storey building with a deep portico, beside which stands the high bell tower.
Buonconvento - Still enclosed in the rectangular form imposed by the walls built by the Sienese in 1371, the town has preserved the monumental northern gate opening towards the capital of the province. Buonconvento was the seat of a podesta fron 1270 onwards and still boasts a fine Town Hall (comune) on whose facade one can distinguish the coats-of-arms of 25 podesta of olden days.

"Hello Fiona
Well, we are on the last of our four weeks holiday from work, and I thought I would write to you and let you know what an AMAZING time we had in Tuscany. I’m not sure that I can find the words to express just how fantastic it all was. Firstly, thank you so much for all of the hard work and effort you put into our big day. It was clear how much thought you had put into it all, and it ran perfectly as a result. I’d love to speak to you at some point to tell you how fantastic it all was, but in the meantime, here is a little snippet of what we thought...
The week spent in Villa Fabbri, surrounded by our friends and family was just beyond our hopes and dreams. I think for every one of the 20 people staying in the Villa it was a magical, special week that we will remember forever. The 360 degree, rolling views surrounding the villa were so beautiful, we could have stayed for the whole summer. The villa (Villa Fabbri) itself is superb, and the pictures on the website do not do it justice. I could not recommend it highly enough as a place to go and stay and we all hope to return in a few years for another week of fun together. Simon, Euan, Ricado and Patrick were all so, so helpful and we just had the best time. Euan in particular worked so hard on the wedding day and we really appreciated all of the help. We spent so many evenings sitting around the big table outside as a group, having swam in the pool during the day and enjoyed the local area. We had a fancy dress party on the Monday night, which was such a laugh, and a great preparation for the fun of the wedding on the Thursday.
And the wedding day itself, oh, what a day! Tim and I had fairly high expectations before we went and it smashed them entirely. It was magical, perfect, beautiful...the list of superlatives just goes on. Siena is just stunning and to be married their felt very special indeed. In fact as I arrived in the car and when we came out a married couple there were 50-60 people all stood round clapping and taking photos, we felt like superstars! The villa made the most gorgeous location for the reception, and our guests have been telling us that they felt privileged to have been there. We of course were so touched that so many people came. After being married in the commune, and having a few drinks and nibbles in a bar afterwards (that Simon had arranged) we went back to the Villa and had cocktails and nibbles around the pool.
Then onto our wedding breakfast – and oh, what a feast! Five courses of the most fabulous food, it was so special and far, far better than the traditional salmon/chicken dishes served at most weddings (although of course I am biased). We sat down at the table in the daylight, and watched the sun set in the background, finishing our food sat under the stars with the candles glowing. It was truly beautiful. We then danced the night away until the early hours. We had also been able to customise the reception the day before, with everyone helping to hang bunting, fairy lights and arrange flowers we bought from the flower market (and we got alliums! Had them coming out of our ears and they were the icing on the very lovely cake).
I have only just got the photos sent to me, so I will send you copies as soon as I have been able to look at them properly, but in the meantime, here are just a couple for you to see. I’d have attached more, but the files are huge. I’ll either send you some on a flash drive or try and publish to a website so you can see.
I cannot thank you, and everyone at RWT enough for helping us create the best week of our lives – not just for Tim and I but everyone who was with us. We will treasure the memories for years to come.
Hope to speak to you soon. Many, many thanks."
"The wedding all went fantastically thank you - the food was great, the villa (Villa Fabbri) was great, Ricardo (the villa owner) was great." Mr and Mrs H, married in Siena in June 2008
